RUSH HOUR TV PILOT COMING TO CBS

Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan

Deadline reports (you can read the article here) that CBS is giving a pilot production commitment to the Rush Hour TV series based on the Rush Hour movies that starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.
The show is being produced by Brett Ratner who directed the movies and Bill Lawrence(Scrubs).

The TV show will stick to the same premise as the movies as a straight by the book cop (played by Chan in the movies) has to work with a cocky, brash, young cop that doesn't want a partner(played by Tucker in the movies).

CBS has tried this formula before. After the success of the first Rush Hour film, CBS aired a show called Martial Law. That show starred Sammo Hung and Arsenio Hall. The show aired from 1998-2000 and had initial success but was cancelled after season 2.

This show may have a chance as the movies were popular and if the right two leads are cast then it may be a tremendous success for CBS.
