RIP ROBIN WILLIAMS

ROBIN WILLIAMS

Robin Williams died yesterday at the age of 63 from an apparent suicide according to PEOPLE. Williams was known for his amazing improvisational stand-up. He stared his career in TV appearing on the Richard Pryor Show. When Garry Marshall needed someone to play an alien named Mork on Happy Days, his sister Penny suggested Robin who at the time was a street performer. His appearance on the show introduced the world to his wonderful brand of humor and spun off into his own show, Mork and Mindy.

Williams made a breakthrough in movies starring as Popeye in 1980. It would be the start of a prolific movie career which included comedic and dramatic roles. His most famous roles being the genie in Aladdin, a grown-up Peter Pan in  Hook,  Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji, Good Morning Vietnam, Patch Adams, and Good Will Hunting.

Robin's unique brand of comedy was inspired by Jonathan Winters, who himself took improv to new heights in the 50's and 60's. Both were comedic geniuses and worked together on Mork and Mindy as well as The Tonight Show.

We will miss Robin Williams. When we see his movies we will laugh and cry a little but we will always keep his memory alive in our hearts.

RIP Mr. Williams. You changed the world with laughter. You will never be forgotten.
