TNT TO SHOOT PILOT FOR TITANS TV SHOW IN 2015

THE NEW TEEN TITANS CIRCA 1980'S

Bleeding Cool reports(read the article here) that Geoff Johns, DC Comics Chief Creative Officer, confirmed on his Twitter that TNT will shoot a pilot for the Titans TV show in 2015. The show will be an hour long drama that would feature Robin (Dick Grayson), Starfire, and Raven.

The premise would be that Robin will start his own group called the "Titans" feeling the need to get out of Batman's shadow. This same premise was used in the 1980's book "The New Teen Titans" and was very successful for DC Comics during that time period.

TNT joins the list of networks that are using comic book based properties as TV shows. The CW has Arrow and Flash. ABC has Marvel's Agents of SHIELD and FOX has Gotham. CBS will have a Supergirl TV show in 2015 as well.

I hope that since Titans is on cable that they will be able to go further with their storylines and content than other shows that are on network TV. I'm looking forward to seeing the results in 2015.
