RAMPAGE JACKSON VS. ROY JONES JR.: DREAM MATCH OR NIGHTMARE?

RAMPAGE JACKSON
                                                                                                     ROY JONES JR.

Rampage Jackson will take on Roy Jones Jr. in a boxing match in December on Pay-Per-View according to USA TODAY (you can read the article here). This is an attempt for BELLATOR MMA to take a run at UFC when it airs it's PPV UFC 168 in December.

If BELLATOR MMA wants attention then they'll definitely get it with this bout. Roy is 44 years old and Jackson is 35 so neither man is in his prime. The match itself may be terrible but it will definitely draw fans as the legendary boxer takes on the MMA star.

Dana White thinks that the venture will lose money for SPIKE TV and BELLATOR. He said in a press conference after UFC ON FOX 8, “They have no f***ing clue what they're doing," White said after UFC on Fox 8 on Saturday. "When they're in this business, right, and things are going well, you start grabbing for anything. You have a bunch of guys who don't know anything about fighting at the network. Networks acquire content. They don't become promoters."

I think Dana White may be right.

MAN OF STEEL SEQUEL TO FEATURE BATMAN

At Comic-Con it was announced that Warner Bros. will do a sequel to "Man of Steel" featuring Batman(you can read the article here). This will be the first time that Batman and Superman will team-up in a live-action movie. Zack Snyder, Christopher Nolan, and David Goyer will all return for the sequel.

At first glance, this is incredible news for any fan of Superman and Batman. I am also a little worried because this is the same team that did "Man of Steel" and that film received mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. Eventhough the film grossed $630 Million dollars worldwide, I don't think it cemented Superman as DC's most popular hero. Batman still holds that crown.

With the addition of Batman in a Superman movie, WB is surely hoping for a smash hit in the 1 Billion dollar area. We will have to wait and see.

LISA MARIE VARON (TARA) RELEASED FROM TNA WRESTLING

According to ProWrestling.net(read the article here) Lisa Marie Varon was released from her contract in TNA Wrestling. Varon is the latest in a list that includes, Matt Morgan, Crimson, Madison Rayne, and DOC.

TNA is trying to cut spending and is shrinking it's roster. The biggest problem is that TNA doesn't market itself well and that's why it's not more well-known.

Lisa Marie was one of my favorite wrestlers in TNA and I felt like her best run with them came when she first came there in 2010. I will miss her presence.

MATT MORGAN RELEASED FROM TNA WRESTLING

Matt Morgan was released from his TNA contract according to PROWRESTLING.NET(You can read the article here). It was reported that he asked for his release as he wasn't used very often and the last time he was used was in a match against Sting leading up to Slammiversary where he lost a #1 contender's match.

It was reported that Matt and his wife are expecting a baby so maybe that influenced his decision to move on.

I'm a fan of Matt Morgan and always thought that TNA didn't know how to use the 7-Foot 330 Pound wrestler as he could have been a major player for TNA. I expressed this sentiment in may blogs on this site that you can read HERE, HERE, and HERE.

I hope he gets to go to WWE and have a great run there.
